LBT Guild Membership
Since 1982, LakeCities Ballet Theatre (LBT) has provided excellence in performing arts to the City of Lewisville and its surrounding communities. LBT is a pre-professional ballet company and is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is sponsored by the City of Lewisville, Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance, En L’Air Dancewear, The Ballet Conservatory, as well as many other corporate sponsors and individual donations.
LakeCities Ballet Theatre is comprised of two companies - LBT and LBT 2. With guidance and education from the artistic staff and help from the production crew and the Guild, the dancers create beautiful performances that are then showcased on stage several times per year. The dancers of the junior company, LBT 2, and of the senior company, LBT, are trained at the Ballet Conservatory under the award-winning artistic staff led by Kelly Lannin. The LBT and LBT 2 dancers have been dancing since a very early age, and continue to grow as they invest their time and energy in technical training, development of artistry, and incredibly hard work.
The Guild was founded in 1999 to support the growing ballet company, and continues to be the fundraising arm of LBT as we enter into our 36th season. Because LBT is a non-profit organization, we have the opportunity to produce high quality performances because of grants we receive from the City of Lewisville and donations from both corporations and individuals. The company’s longevity is certainly to be attributed to the training and guidance that the LBT dancers have continuously received, but is also largely in part due to the incredible parent volunteers and support that the organization has received from family, friends, and patrons over the years. In order to continue to produce high quality performances and foster the growth, education, and artistic development of our dancers, we need Guild Members to continue to support the organization.
As a former dancer with LakeCities Ballet Theatre, I can personally attest to the importance of this company, both for the dancers and for the community. In my five years with LBT, I not only developed a lasting love and appreciation of dance, but was also given unparalleled training and performance opportunities. As if that weren't rewarding enough, I know I speak for many of my fellow LBT company alumni when I say that LBT played a huge role in helping me reach my full potential, both artistically and personally.
