Company Membership
Company members are chosen through an open-audition process. In addition to their normal dance training, LBT company members devote up to 10 hours of company rehearsal time each week to ensure LBT productions present the highly polished level of the classical dance art for which LBT has become known.

LakeCities Ballet Theatre had another successful year at the 2008 Regional Youth America Grand Prix. Not only was our own Ballet Conservatory, (home to LBT) named the regional "Outstanding School", but our own Kelly Kilburn-Lannin, Artistic Director for LBT, was named "Outstanding Teacher"...For the THIRD time.

We are also extremely proud of Sally Schweitzer and Steven Loch who were awarded 1st Place Ensemble for Satanella Pas de Deux. Steven Loch, who won the Junior Youth Grand Prix Award in 2006, competed for the first time in the Senior Division and received 2nd place in the Classical division and 3rd place in the Contemporary Division. In the Junior Division, Sally Schweitzer was awarded first place in Classical and 3rd place for Contemporary and Sarah Johnson placed 2nd in the Junior Classical Division. We are also so happy for Kendall Galey, 11 years old, who placed 1st in Pre-Competitive Competition. All four of these dancers qualified for and competed at the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York City competing against dancers from all over the world. Steven moved on the Final Round of the competition and was offered the prestigious JKO scholarship to American Ballet Theatre's full year program.

Steven and Sarah attended ABT's summer workshops in New York along with another LBT member, Nicole Votolato, and Sally was invited and attended The School of American Ballet this summer, also in New York. As a result of their performance in New York, Sally and Steven have since been invited to perform at the Miami International Dance Festival in September. Every member of LBT who participated in the Youth America Grand Prix as a soloist received a place in the Top 12 or was invited to the YAGP Intensive in New York.

If you would like to see more of LBT's accomplishments at the YAGP, look in the Newsroom here or the Photo Gallery here.
