Shanon Tate

SHANON TATE graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BFA in Dance Performance. She has been on the faculty at the Brookhaven College School of the Arts since 1997, teaching Modern and Jazz techniques, and has been a resident choreographer for their Dancer's Theatre since 1992. Mrs. Tate was a co-founder and Artistic/Executive Director of the Dallas-based Ground Level Dance Company, as well as a choreographer for the company and featured dancer. In addition to Ground Level, she has performed with Dancers Unlimited, Ewert and Company, Karen Robinson and Dancers, and others. She has had the privilege of working with Max Stone, members of the David Parsons Dance Company, Ron Brown and has participated in the American Dance Festival.

An accomplished choreographer, Mrs. Tate's works have been performed by companies in Austin, TX and Santa Barbara, CA, and was represented several times in the Dallas Morning New Dance Festival (Curtain Call Dance Festival). In 2004, she was awarded the "Outstanding Choreographer" award at the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition. Mrs. Tate is currently the Director of LakeCities Ballet Theatre II and on the Board of Directors for LakeCities Ballet Theatre.
