Allan Kinzie

In 2003, ALLAN KINZIE accepted a position as Artist in Residence at Southern Methodist University where he set two original creations; Scenes de Ballet and Trauma into Light. Prior to this appointment, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma, Ballet Master and Choreographer for the Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Instructor at Walnut Hill School for the Arts and the Boston Ballet School. His choreographies have been presented in Europe as well as in the United States with a focus on contemporary composers and movement invention.

As a performer, he danced leading roles with Boston Ballet, Chicago City Ballet, Ballet Theatre Francais de Nancy, and the Dallas Ballet. Mr Kinzie was accepted to three international competitions and performed internationally with Rudolph Nureyev in his production of Don Quixote. In 1978, Mr. Kinzie guest starred as the Prince in The Sleeping Beauty for the Christmas at Walt Disney World Special on NBC. In addition to his work with LakeCities Ballet Theatre and the Ballet Conservatory, Mr. Kinzie is a guest teacher / choreographer and was invited for an artist residency in Mexico at the Talulah Escuela De Danza in August 2010. Mr. Kinzie has been an Adjunct Professor of Ballet at Texas Christian University since August 2010.
